which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have
seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have
handled, of the Word of life; |

the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness,
and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father,
and was manifested unto us;) |

That
which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may
have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father,
and with his Son Jesus Christ. |

And
these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. |

then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto
you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. |

we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we
lie, and do not the truth: |

But
if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship
one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth
us from all sin. |

If
we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth
is not in us. |
| 9.
|
If
we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. |

If
we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word
is not in us. |

to our ears, so that you may be united with us; and we are united

And
we are writing these things to you so that our joy may be made complete.

This
is the word which came to us from him and which we give to you,
that God is light and in him there is nothing dark.
|
| 6.
|
If
we say we are joined to him, and are walking still in the dark,
our words are false and our acts are untrue:
|
| 7.
|
But
if we are walking in the light, as he is in the light, we are all
united with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son makes us
clean from all sin.
|
| 8.
|
If
we say that we have no sin, we are false to ourselves and there
is nothing true in us.
|
| 9.
|
If
we say openly that we have done wrong, he is upright and true to
his word, giving us forgiveness of sins and making us clean from
all evil.
|
| 10.
|
If
we say that we have no sin, we make him false and his word is not
in us.
|
|

to you the Life, the age-during, which was with the Father, and
was manifested to us --

have fellowship with us, and our fellowship is with the Father,
and with His Son Jesus Christ;

and
these things we write to you, that your joy may be full.

you, that God is light, and darkness in Him is not at all;

we may say -- 'we have fellowship with Him,' and in the darkness
may walk -- we lie, and do not the truth;

one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son doth cleanse
us from every sin;

if
we may say -- 'we have not sin,' ourselves we lead astray, and the
truth is not in us;

we may confess our sins, stedfast He is and righteous that He may
forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from every unrighteousness;
|

if
we may say -- 'we have not sinned,' a liar we make Him, and His
word is not in us.

he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived,
and bare him a son. |

|
And
Jehovah said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while,
and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and
will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease. |
| 5.
|
And
it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of
Israel in the valley of Jezreel. |
| 6.
|
And
she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And Jehovah said
unto him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have mercy
upon the house of Israel, that I should in any wise pardon them.
|
| 7.
|
But
I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by
Jehovah their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword,
nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen. |
| 8.
|
Now
